Sunday Zoom
This service for children preschool–6th grade meets on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. Children ages 3–5 are grouped in one class, grades 1–3 in
another, and grades 4–6 in another class. Each class is designed to meet the specific learning capabilities of its children's age level.
Activities range from crafts and coloring for the little ones to discussion groups and skits for the older kids. Before class, the
children enjoy eating breakfast together.
Kid's Church
Children in 1st-6th grade enjoy this fun-filled service packed with learning and laughter! We strive to reach out to children and to create an appealing atmosphere of
unconditional love so that all children may receive and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and learn Biblical principles for life.
In pursuit of this goal, each service features interactive lessons, praise and worship, skits, and games. Children also divide into small
groups for focus on prayer and personal growth. Kid's Church meets during the 10:00 service on Sundays and during the 6:30 service on Saturdays.
Before and after each service, the children have free time to play together on the giant slide, work on projects at the art center, or
play video games together. Come join us!
Jr. Kid's Church
Jr. Kid's Church is for children from ages 3 to Kindergarten and is held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Jr. Kid's Church
is packed with activities to help the children learn about Jesus. Each week's lesson focuses on a Scripture verse
that is reinforced through a storybook video. Besides the lesson, the children also have a time of praise and
worship—they especially love jumping up and down, marching, and using the maracas that they made. They also have
fun making crafts, playing games, and eating snacks. On Saturdays, Jr. Kid's Church and Kid's Church combine into
one action-packed service for kids.
The Rock Children's Ministry
Children preschool-6th grade enjoy a special service on Wednesday night
that is designed just for them. The night gets off to a great
start with fun songs and movements. Then children then act out a skit (with the help of their favorite visitor, Millie) to teach the night's
Bible lesson. This skit is followed by a memory verse and introduction of the night's Bible point that applies the lesson to
their lives. Then children divide into classes and rotate through different stations that all reinforce the night's Bible point.
Stations include music, crafts, snacks, games, and object lessons.
Nursery Care
The nursery is open for all children ages 0–2. Busy little children have fun exploring all the different toys and activities such as the
slide, the play house, and the boat. They may also watch videos, listen to music, and have snacks. Each nursery worker is trained and
eager to show God's love to these little ones. The nursery uses a vibrating pager system to communicate with parents if necessary.
Bus Ministry
Church of the Good Shepherd wants to make a significant impact on our community, and one way we
actively reach out is through our bus ministry. During the school year, we send three buses and a van into the Wayne,
Bradner, Pemberville, and Risingsun areas to pick up children in preschool-12th grade for Wednesday Family Night. If you live in
Wayne, Bradner, Pemberville, or Risingsun and would like to have the bus pick up you or your children, please call the church at 419-287-3757.
