"What must I do to be saved?" The Bible gives us definite answers to this question:
1. Acknowledge that you have sinned: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
2. Repent: "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out" (Acts 3:19). Change your mind and attitude toward sin.
3. Confess: "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).
4. Forsake: "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto the Lord...for He will abundantly pardon" (Isaiah 55:7).
5. Believe: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). This is more than just intellectual acknowledgement. This kind of belief causes us to change the way we live.
6. Receive: Receive Jesus Christ not only as Savior, but also as Lord and King. "He came unto His own, and His own received Him not, but as many as received Him, to them He gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name" (John 1:11-12).
You can receive Jesus Christ into your heart right now by praying this simple prayer:
"Lord Jesus, I believe you died on the cross for my sin and rose again from the dead. I am sorry for my sins and ask you to forgive me. I invite you right now to be my personal Savior and Lord. Make my life a testimony of your grace. Thank you for loving me. Amen."
